Description
Jill Dougherty is an American reporter and journalist who worked as an anchor and foreign affairs correspondent for CNN. She was part of the CNN team that won the 1993 American Journalism Review Award for Best White House Coverage. She was born in 1949. She began her career as a Russian-language broadcaster and writer for Voice of America, U.S.S.R. Division. She was a Benton Fellow in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Chicago and studied at Leningrad State University, U.S.S.R. She holds a B.A. in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. After 30 years at CNN, she left in in 2013, and is currently a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
